With a seemingly regular hairdryer, visitors are invited to blow away the seeds of a digital dandelion. A playful and magical example of how simple technology turn an everyday object into an interactive and engaging output. When visitors use the hairdryer, a camera tracks their position and the installation reacts to its movements.

The installation was originally made for the exhibition Decode - Digital Design Sensations curated by Onedotzero at the Victoria & Albert Museum. An exhibition showcasing the latest developments in digital and interactive design.

Since April 2010, the installation has toured the world, visiting countries such as USA, Russia, China and Brazil.

Dandelion was created in collaboration with London-based agency Sennep.

Location: London, United Kingdom
Photography: Yoke and Sennep
