At Ballerup Library, Yoke designed "Klogskabet," a modular and functional system that utilizes the library's digital content to present and explore themes. This open-source design includes adaptable furniture, electronic modules and interactive experiences. It also contains a management system that libraries can build upon and customize the design to suit their needs.
One interactive element in Klogskabet is an audio player, along with touchscreens that display galleries, timelines, and quizzes. Additionally, a receipt printer provides instructions for accessing the library's services from home.
For Lyngby Library, Yoke developed "The interactive book," a touch-sensitive table that brings hidden digital content to a visible surface. Users can access predefined searches in a digital database, displaying results with text, sound, images, and videos around a physical book. Librarians can mount a new book and map its dimensions using a video projector and touch sensor. They can also add touch points in the book to reveal additional content when visitors interact with them.
Another Yoke creation, "Bladkiosken" (the newsstand), is a playful touchscreen application at Ballerup Library. By rearranging pieces on the screen, users unlock and access entire magazines for reading and browsing. Library users can also enjoy online magazine and newspaper services from home.
Through these innovative projects, Danish libraries has transformed physical spaces at the library into gateways to digital resources, providing users with information and services they may not have known were available.
